Comfort Measures: All 4's Rebozo: Belly Lift, Sifting & Shake the Apple Tree
These comfort measures can be done kneeling while leaning on a piece of furniture (to protect your wrists) or standing and leaning on a countertop or other sturdy surface. Always make sure the person receiving is fully supported on their arms before beginning, so that they are not pushed over.
These are great for comfort during or in between contracts (or at the end of a long day while still pregnant!) and can be very helpful with Optimal Fetal Positioning - shifting labour out of your back (back labour) or help things continue to progress during labour.
Sifting is often done between contractions and is great for people experiencing back labour to help "turn" baby.
